Junior was born to Cloid Lamont Provost and Eliza LaVilda Winterton Aug 14, 1925 in Midway, UT, the eldest of 10 children. He was a devoted son, husband, and father. He served in the U.S. Navy for 28 months during World War II. He worked 30 years as a miner for the United Park Mine Companies and as church custodian for 13 years. He believed strongly in an honest day's work for an honest day's wage.
He married Darl Blackley July 3, 1946 in Heber City, UT; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 2, 1958. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as a high priest in the Heber Seventh Ward. He loved his Savior and was proud of his family for living the gospel principles. He left behind the lessons of life that we cherish so dearly: hard work, compassion, charity, love and gratitude. His greatest joy was his family and all his grandchildren. He could never express enough love and gratitude to his family. Dad never spoke unkind of anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Darl; daughters, Dawnette (J.L.) Clyde, Julie (Wayne) Hardman; sons, Steven Lamont (Lisa) Provost, Jay Floyd (Linda) Provost, all of Heber City; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd, Michael; three sisters, Wanda Ryan, Shirley Ivie, Joan Colovich; and sister-in-law, Eva Provost. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; granddaughter, Amber; mother and father-in-law.
We will miss you, Dad, but we know that you are free from your suffering and you are truly happy!
Services will be Wed. Dec 4, 2002, 11 a.m. Heber Third-Seventh Ward Chapel, 240 E. 400 S, Heber. Family and friends may call Tues. Dec 3, 6-8 p.m. Olpin-Hoopes Mortuary and Wed. 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial, Heber City Cemetery.
We love you, Dad!
"Till we meet again."
