Flota Delatha Daniel Pool, of Forney, passed away October 5, 2009. Flota was born May 6, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph and Flota (Smith) Daniel. She was a very active and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Forney where she served as Choir Director as well as church soloist, pianist and organist. Flota received her Master's Degree in Music from University of Southern California and she taught music in the public schools. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society and she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends. Flota is survived by her husband, Richard Pool of Forney; stepdaughters: Rachele Wilson and husband, Simon, of Quakertown, PA and Charlene Dunn and husband, Steve, of Medford, NJ; seven grandchildren; sister, Lella Smith and, husband, Jim Stathakis of Pasadena, CA; brother, Joe Daniel and wife, Sherry, of Forney; niece and nephew, Crystal and David Daniel as well as many other relatives and a host of friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. Funeral service will be 11:00am, Friday, October 9, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Forney with interment at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at D/FW National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Thursday, October 8, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Forney.
