Wallace "Wally", age 76, of Sun Prairie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at home. He was born in West Point, Columbia County, the son of Ezra R. & Lillian (Braun) Smith. Wally attended Rock of Gilbraltar Elementary School and Lodi High School. He served two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Salsburg, Austria. Wally attended Madison Area Technical College, Auto Body Program, following military service. He married Sandra Carrow on April 4, 1959, in Madison. Wally worked for Kaiser Ford Auto Body for eight years, then returned to Madison Area Technical College as an auto body instructor, teaching for more than 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed bowling, restoring antique cars and genealogy. Wally is survived by his wife, Sandy; two children, Scot (Peggy) of DeForest, WI, and Debbie (Kevin) Emshoff of Roxbury, WI; five grandchildren, Ezra and Jack Smith, and Ethan, Lydia and Eric Emshoff; a sister, Delores Wilson of Lodi, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at the Funeral Home with Sister Georgeann Roudebush presiding.
