Mayor of San Francisco. A native of Mexico, Guerrero settled in the community of Yerba Buena, later to be renamed San Francisco, in 1835. In 1836 he was appointed to serve as the 3rd Alcalde, or Mayor, of San Francisco until 1837. He later was reappointed to serve as Alcalde from 1839 until 1841. Though highly respected in the community, he was murdered in the streets of San Francisco at the age 40.
