Ruby Randie Lorraine Efterfield was born on July 5, 1909 in Bigwoods Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Osuf and Barbra (Hedden) Efterfield. She attended country school. On October 27, 1926, she married Orrie Knutson. They made their home in rural Oslo, MN. Orrie died on February 5, 1955. Ruby took care of her mother until her death and than she worked for the Warren Hospital for eleven years. On October 24, 1964, she married Clarence Jorgenson and she became mom and grandma to Clarence's family. They made their home Argyle and she helped Clarence with his carpentry business. Clarence died on May 30, 1992.
She loved to sew, do embroidery, make rag rugs, bake and was know for making the best lefsa ever. Ruby was faithful in prayer and held a strong belief in Jesus.
Ruby was a member of Bigwoods Lutheran Church and Hogberg-Gerszewski American Legion Auxiliary.
Left to mourn her passing are three children: Sheridan Knutson of Oslo, MN, Winton (Theresa) Knutson of Oslo, MN and Colleen (Gary) Bergeron of Argyle, MN; ten grandchildren, Neil (Michele) Knutson, Orin Knutson, Dawn (Dean) LaBine, Jeffery (Sue) Anderson, Jayne (Mat) Nolden, Shannon (Terry) Henrickson, Jackie Bergeron, Jason (Brenda) Bergeron, Michelle (Lynn) Bell and Cale Bergeron; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Orrie and Clarence; two daughters, Janice Anderson and Barbra Knutson; three grandsons, Mark, James and Lynn Knutson; infant granddaughter, Marie Bergeron; brothers, Albert, Andrew, Odean, Ingvald, Arthur and Oscar and sisters, Randia, Selma Swanson, Alpha Swanson and Anna Kallock.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN.
Visitation: After 6:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo and one hour before services at the church.
Interment: Bigwoods Lutheran Cemetery, rural Oslo MN.
