Winton Rolland Knutson, 92, of East Grand Forks, formerly of Oslo, MN, a lifelong farmer, passed away with family at his side on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

Winton was born on August 23, 1928, in Argyle, MN; the son of Orrie and Ruby (Efterfield) Knutson. He attended country school in Oak Park Township, and 7th and 8th grades in Argyle. He graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, the class of 1946. He married Theresa St. Germain on June 26, 1951, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle. Winton and Theresa made their home in Oak Park Township north of Oslo where Winton farmed for 66 years. They raised six children. In 2011, he and Theresa moved to Grand Forks, ND. After living there for 8 ½ years, they made a new home at the Good Samaritan Heritage Grove, in East Grand Forks.

Winton was very active in his community and Church. He served on the Oak Park Twp. Board, the Oslo Coop Elevators Board, and the American Crystal Sugar Growers Board. He was secretary treasurer for Marshall-Polk Rural Water for 40 years and on the State Board of Rural Water for 20 years. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Church council at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oslo.

Winton is survived by his wife of 69 years, Theresa; children, Neil (Michele) Knutson of Oslo, Orin Knutson of Oslo, and Dawn (Dean) La Bine of Argyle; eight grandchildren, Nicholas (Melissa) Knutson, Lynn Knutson, Douglas (Amber) Knutson, Derek (Erin) Knutson, Jenna Knutson, Larissa (Cody) Zeman, Ashley (Justin) Moe, and Blake (Britta) La Bine; ten great-grandkids, Hadley, Kase, Stella, Charleigh, Granger, Charlee and Emersyn VanCamp, Walker, Willa, Mahren, and Everett.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Mark, Lynn, and James; his parents, Orrie and Ruby; sisters, Barbara and Janice Anderson; and brother, Sheridan Knutson. He will be missed by many.
