Mrs. Margaret M. Gladstone, 84, of Abbottswood at Irving Park, died on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral arrangements are private.
A native of Greensboro, Mrs. Gladstone was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She received a Bachelor's degree from East Carolina Teachers' College, a Master's of Library Science degree from UNC-G, and completed post-graduate work in counseling at UNC-Chapel Hill. She taught French and English at High Point School and served as Head Librarian of the High Point City Schools. She served as a Counselor at Sternberger Elementary School and for seven years she was the High School Libraria n at Westminster Private School in Atlanta. After retirement she pursued her love of art, attending art classes at Guilford College.
Mrs. Gladstone was preceded in death by her son, William Kent Gladstone.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, R.M. Happyrock Gladstone, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn G. and Ronald T. Parker, of Monroe; sister, Frances Vandergrift of Pittsboro; and grandchildren, Ltjg. Matthew T. Parker of Norfolk, Va., and Ashley L. Parker of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
