C.Willard Shields, 82, of 1454 N. County Road 600 E., Rushville, died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 1995 at his home.

Born May 8, 1912 in Rush County, he was the son of Charles and Nellie Abernathy Shields. He married Ethelada Gray Jan. 28, 1940 and she survives. He had lived In the Mauzy area all his life. He had been a school bus driver for 16 years in the 1950s and 1960s with Union Township School System. He also had worked at Pioneer Hybrid Seed. He was a member of the Main Street Christian Church and, a past member of the Falmouth F&AM. He was a member of the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons: Charles F. of Greensburg and Ronald L. of Rushville; one brother: Gurney Shields of Connersville; two sisters: Helen Neger of Lee Summit Missouri and Gertrude Bufkin of Tucson, Ariz.; two half-sisters: Laura Mae Chomel and Juanita Henry, both of Conners-ville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, one half-brother, and one half-sister.

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Moster and Cox Mortuary in Rushville with the Rev. Hank Anderson officiating. Burial is at Rushville East Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
