She was great-granddaughter of Nicholas and Françoise/Frances (née Petitjean) Ducray, who in 1839 emigrated with their nine children from the Ducray family village of Gondenans-les-Moulins, France, to Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania (see "HARDY PIONEER FAMILY Ducray" online).
