Robert was born to Howard Belknap and Donna Olson. Robert lived in Craigmont until the family moved to Lewiston In 1965.Robert attented Lewiston schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1968. While in high school, Robert worked for W.E Pinch, a wholesale confection business. After high school Robert got a job on the wood side at Potlatch, Inc. where he worked about five years.

Robert worked for various glass companies around Lewiston. He was a very accomplished finish carpenter. He worked maney years as an independent finishing carpenter for area contractors.

Robert enjoyed playing music for his family. He played guitar and sang for many years with Ivan Pixley in local establishments around the valley. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycling and camping whenever possible.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Howard Belknap; his brother, Clifton Belknap, and his stepfather, Glenn Spindler
