Daniel married Levina James in 1817 in Pickaway County, Ohio.

Not sure of the relationship to the head of household Daniel but he doesn't appear to be his son Daniel. Perhaps a nephew?


In 1870 they reside in the same area, living next door to Daniel's son Francis Marion Lane, his 2nd wife Sarah & his children. Daniel is a farmer.

Anderson Hugh Darneille 15 Aug. 1835 in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana; she d. ca 1842-44 in Indiana; they had two sons, Oscar, b. 13 July 1838, d. 22 Jan. 1909; and Isaac, b. 24 Feb. 1840, d. 23 June 1916. Oscar married Margaret O'Connor and is said to have died in Calif. Anderson then married Mary Lane 19 May 1844 in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. She is an alleged cousin. Anderson & Mary Lane Darneille and their extended family trekked to Oregon in 1853 via the Oregon Trail. Anderson is buried in the Missouri Flat Cem., Jackson Co., Oregon; see his memorial for add'l info.

Daughter, Mary Lane, b. 4 April 1838, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, m. 25 Dec 1856, in Tippecanoe to Edwin D. Kent; she d. 11 Dec 1877, Grand Island, Hall Co., NE. She was Ernie Kent's great-grandmother. Mary and her family moved to Milford, Illinois in 1858, then to Delhi, Iowa in 1868, and to Hall, Nebraska in 1872.

The Illinois State Archives has a "Role of Honor" compiled as a WPA project in 1929, and it lists Daniel Lane, buried in the Old Milford Cemetery in Iroquois County as a veteran of the War of 1812.
Daniel married Levina James in 1817 in Pickaway County, Ohio.
