William H. Heisler was born in Ohio. He moved to Baltimore in the early 1850s, and in about 1857, he married Mary Ann Harford, daughter of Washington and Helen (Nicholls) Harford, in Baltimore, Maryland.

His wife Mary Ann died 22 Aug 1894 and is buried in St. Andrews Churchyard, Mount Holly, Burlington, NJ.

William is next found in Philadelphia living with his son Walter S.

He died at 4924 Baltimore Ave., Philadelphia, on 10 Sep 1903, and was buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery 15 Sep 1903.
