BANGOR -- Edward A. Lumbert, 82, beloved husband of Priscilla (LeCours) Lumbert, passed away Nov. 4, 2008, in Bangor. Edward was born Sept. 11, 1926, in Moose River, the son of Charles P. Lumbert and Mae (Hall) Lumbert. He graduated from Jackman High School in 1943 and cum laude from Husson College in 1948. He also studied at Kings College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Edward served in the Navy, Pacific Theater, as a quartermaster during World War II.
Edward is survived by his wife of 57 years; brothers Floyd and his wife, Marcelle, and Perry and his wife, Gaetane, all of Moose River; sister Jean and her husband, Arthur LaBelle of Trenton; sister-in-law Theda Lumbert; brother-in-law Herman LaBelle; and a special uncle, George Hall. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Clinton, and sister, Florence LaBelle.
Private graveside services for the family will take place Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Whipple Cemetery in Jackman. (Morning Sentinel 11/6/2008)
