Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Rex was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Sanger. He was the youngest boy and the last survivor of 13 children born to Mel and Sarah Marion. Rex married his high school sweetheart, Doris. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in March.
Rex served in the Navy. He later worked for General Dynamics and retired after 39 years. Rex and Doris spent many wonderful retirement years living on Lake Granbury before moving back to Fort Worth eight years ago. Rex loved the Johnnie High Country Music Revue and was an association member for over 30 years.
Rex was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. When living in Hurst, he served as a deacon at the Pipeline Road church. In later years, he was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington.
Survivors: Those left to cherish memories of this sweet man are his wife, Doris Marion; children, Jerry Marion and wife, Shirley, Sherry King and husband, Bill, and Sandra Elliott and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Jerry Lee Marion, Cindy Haskett, Stephen Alan King, Russell King, Sarah Sarver, Kristie Kolb and Brian Elliott; and great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Nathaniel, Connor, Zane, Alycia, Trey, Shelby, Mary, Micah, Daniel, Christopher and Matthew.
