MRS. H. D. GODE PASSES AWAY

Mrs. H. D. Gode passed away in a local hospital on Friday morning after a short illness at the age of 59 years, seven months and 10 days.
Funeral services were conducted from the First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. R. L. Brown officiating. Interment followed in Norwood Cemetery, under the direction of Heartfield Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were A. W. Klement, W. L. Smith, L. H. McWilliams, A. H. Pate, Ralf Blackstone and Virgil M. Newell.
Inez Maggie Gibson was born in Doss on August 11, 1892. At an early age she and Mr. Gode were married and for many years they made Hearne their home, where Mr. Gode is agent for the Missouri Pacific.
She was an active and loyal Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church, and was teacher of the T. E. L. Sunday School Class. She was a faithful religious worker and was loved by everyone with whom she came in contact.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, R. K. Gode of Cotulla, M. H. Gode of Sulphur Springs, L. M. Gode of Galena Park and H. A. Gode of Verdugo City, California.
Two daughters, Mrs. W. B. Collier of Pearsall and Mrs. Thelma Nieman of Alameda, California; a sister, Mrs. Miles Nixon of Menard; four brothers, H. C. Gibson of Dublin, L. C. Gibson of Prairie Lea, Oscar Gibson of Glendale, Arizona and Irving Gibson of Heber, Arizona; and 10 grandchildren.
Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Gene Quick, Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Gode, Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Moehring, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sowell and Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Pfenning of Round Rock.
