Phyllis Rae Melton, 57, formerly of Stratford, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Byers, Colorado. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, October 10, 2009 in Stratford Cemetery with Rev. Jason Stone, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Phyllis Ray Melton was born March 18, 1952 in Dumas, Texas to Jim and Bobbie Farris. In 1970 she graduated from Stratford High School and on April 18, 1971 she married Tim Melton in Dalhart, Texas. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Farris.
Survivors include; her husband, Tim of the home; sons, Brandon Melton of Amarillo and Kolby Melton of Trinidad, CO; her mother, Bobbie Farris of Amarillo; brother, Jim L. Farris of Henderson, NV; and 6 grandchildren.
