He married Clara Hale Perry on September 7, 1904. Two children were born of this marriage, Eugene Russell Ham (who drowned while the family lived at Leadwood, Mo.) and John Paul Ham.
He was coverted and joined the M. E. Church, Senath, in August, 1886. He was educated in the common schools of his county and at Marvin College. He taught school for five years. He joined the St. Louis Conference on trial in Sept. 1902, at Malden, Mo., the Bishop Wilson presiding. Rev. Ham continued to serve in the Missouri Conference until his death, serving as pastor of the Senath and Haarkey's Chapel Church in 1910.
Services were held at Harkey's Chapel. Services were conducted by the Rev. S. L. Weems, assisted by the Rev. M. A. Bridwell and the Rev. E. H. Orear. Buriel was at the Parkview Cemetery, Farmington, Mo.
