Charles G. Fawcett, well known farmer and former County commissioner, died on Tuesday in his home in Union Township from complication of diseases. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church at Carrollton, services being conducted by Rev. Messrs. W. S. Rowe of the Carrollton charge, Rev. H. H. Moore of Pleasant Hill and Rev. T. I. McRae, former pastor here. Burial was made in Carrollton cemetery.
The deceased was a son of John and Rose Ann (Crosier) Fawcett, and was born in Union Township January 2, 1849. On September 11, 1888, he was married to Lillian Moody, who survives, together with there sons, Walter, Boyd and David of the home; a daughter, Mary of the home; a sister, Mrs. Fred Brandt of Kilgore; a brother, Joseph of Yellow Springs, and a half-brother, James of Carrollton. The latter three are sole survivors of a family of six sons and two daughters. Mr. Fawcett served as county commissioner from 1915 to 1919. He was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.
