Darrel L. Long, 40, of Waverly died at 6:20 a.m. Monday, May 1, 1989 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born March 2, 1949, in Jacksonville , son of Roy and Marjorie Goacher Long. He married Peggy Jo Stubblefield on Sept. 14, 1968 and she survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Waverly; two sons, Randy Joe and Eric Lee, both at home; a brother, Donald Long of Waverly; a sister, Donna Dyke of Jacksonville.
Mr. Long was a 1988 graduate of Franklin High School. He farmed and, for eight to ten years, operated Long's Bait Shop in Waverly.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wenesday at the Neece Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Keith Pereira, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment was in Waverly East Cemetery.
