He served in the Army during World War 11 in Germany. He was a dairy farmer and belonged to the Masons.

Harry Bitner 69, of Numa died Friday, Nov. 5, 1993, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Hayesville, the son of Vernie and Lena (Sauer) Bitner.

He married Ruth Johnson. She preceded him in death. He later married Mary Silvus Feb. 28 1979, in Unionville, Mo.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy DeAngelo of Des Moines; four grandchildren; his mother, Lena Bitner of Centerville; three brothers, Marvin and Donald of Centerville and Jerry of Tennessee; and a sister, Irma Vincent of Mystic.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; his father; and a son, Dick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Lange Funeral Home with Marvin Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cenetery in Hamilton, Mo. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.
