May Geneive Putnam Meacham left this life on October 1, 2009 at the age of 96 of causes related to age. She resided at 417 North 350 East in Kaysville, Utah at the time of her death.


She was born January 27, 1913 to John Melvin and Rosabelle Hoggan Putnam in Woodruff, Utah.


Geneive married Clarence Rogers Meacham whom she met while living in Rock Springs, Wyoming. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 15, 1934. They were sweethearts for 68 years before his death in 2002.


Geneive loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived an exemplary life of faith and service to her family, friends and neighbors and was loved by all. She and Clarence served an LDS Church mission from 1987 to 1988 in the West Virginia Charleston Mission. She was happy serving wherever She was called. Geneive loved flowers, music, the Scriptures, and especially Primary.


She is survived by her children: Melba Ortiz, Layton; Colleen (Don) Grant, West Valley City; Russel (Phyllis) Meacham, Layton; Laura Izatt, Layton; Walter (Mary) Elizabeth Mecham, Kaysville; Mary (LaVar) Taylor, Syracuse and Martha (Brent) Parker, Roy. Also surviving are 42 grandchildren, 134 great-grandchildren, and 36 great-great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Mildred Wettstein, Ontario, Oregon; Mary Argyle and Clarine Osborn Randolph, Utah; Howard (Mary Esther), Pine Valley, Utah; and Melrose "Jack" (Charlene), St. George, Utah; and Loa Madsen, Rigby, Idaho. Preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kaysville Eighteenth Ward Chapel, 1085 North 50 East (Fairfield and Mutton Hollow Road). Friends and family may call on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Church.
Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
