Eliza Jamison Osmond was the wife of Jesse Osmond, master builder and owner of The American Foundry, which built locomotives for the South during the Civil War. She was the mother of Mary Ann, Martha Ellen (Whiting), Delencia, George W. (Confederate Soldier), Sarah A., Charles B., Henry Campbell, and Jesse Jr. (Confederate Soldier). She lived in the house that her husband Jesse built for them in 1853. It is still (2009) standing on 404 Telfair St. in Augusta, and is now the La Maison Restaurant. She is buried in an unmarked grave in Magnolia Cemetery in Augusta, Georgia. After her death her husband, Jesse, returned to Pennsylvania where he was raised and lived with his brother Jonathan Pitner Osmond and his family. Jesse died three years after Eliza.
