She received her education in the Ohiowa area country schools. Amelia and her twin sister, Rosa, were members of the Bruning Community Bank during their late teens.
On Oct. 7, 1914, she was married to Christof Johnson at the South Lutheran church. Eight children were born to this union.
Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Christof; son Ronald; daughters, Arlene and Dorothy; great grandson Jarod; daughter-in-law, June; parents, Louis and Martha Eppler; three brothers, William, Ernest and Louis; and twin sister, Rosa.
She is survived by five children, daughter, Leona (Fieldon) Hawks, son, Vernon (Lola), son Gaylord (Dolores), daughter, Darlene (Darrell) Messman, daughter, Verienne (Robert) Hulse, son-in-law, Paul Raines.
