Born in Warren on Nov. 25, 1925, he was the son of Herbert L. Sr. and Harriet (Decker) Curtiss. A lifelong Warren resident, Mr. Curtiss had been a 50-year member of the Warren Volunteer Fire Co. He enjoyed bowling and golf and was a big fan of NASCAR and the N.Y. Yankees.
In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by his sons, Gary M. Curtiss and his wife, Cynthia, of Sharon, Gregory B. Curtiss and his wife, Geraldine, of Torrington; brothers, Herbert L. Curtiss Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Litchfield, and Rutledge Curtiss and his wife, Doris, of New Milford; five grandchildren, Ryan, Sean, Justin, Joshua and Alexa Curtiss; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Friday, Oct. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A funeral service will be held 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Leedsville Road, Amenia Union, N.Y. Burial in Warren Cemetery will be private.
