Mr. Brownlee was a retired electrician with Local 505, IBEW. He served with the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was a member of F & AM Lodge #894 in Chickasaw, the Abba Temple Shrine, The Scottish Rite, and a mystic society.
Mr. Brownlee was preceded in death by his brothers, W. E. Brownlee, Jr. and J. D. Brownlee; his sister, Aurita Lemoine, and a great-granddaughter, Kristy Brownlee.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Pryor Brownlee; devoted son, Homer C. (Luwana) Brownlee, Jr.; three daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Thornton, Mary (Scott) Grosz, and Diane (Ken) Perkins; one brother, Milton A. (Pat) Brownlee; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; five great, great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, April 5, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
