Miss Myrtice Myers, well-known Southern Bell Telephone Company employee, died this morning in a local hospital following an extended illness. A native of Savannah, she had made her home in Waycross since 1924. She began her career with Southern Bell in 1925 and retired in 1955 as service representative. Miss Myers was a life member in Telephone Pioneers of America and was active in the organization until ill health prevented taking part. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Harvester Sunday School Class. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. C. T. Myers, Sr., Waycross, eight brothers, Clay T. Myers, Jr., Waycross, Herbert E. Myers, Mableton, Charles D. Myers, Atlanta, William F. Myers, Griffin, Marvin L. Myers, Jacksonville, Fla., James F. Myers, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Donald E. Myers, Los Angeles, Calif., and Earl C. Myers, Catawba, N. C., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Miles-Odum Chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Miles-Odum Funeral Home is in charge.
