Mrs. Jane Wilson passed away at
her home southeast of Frankfort,
Kansas at 4:40 a.m. on Sunday,
January 25, 1903 at the age of 70
years, 9 months and 18 days.
Mrs. Wilson had been sick with
pneumonia for several days, but
it was thought she was recovering
until a few moments before her
death.
Miss Jane Shaw was born in n New
Philadelphia, Ohio. She married
Joseph Wilson. They moved to
southern Kansas in 1871, and then
to Marshall county, Kansas in 1876.
The family has been residents of
Marshall county ever since. She
was divorced from Reverend
Joseph Wilson some years ago.
He moved off to Arkansas and
still lives there, Mrs. Wilson
remained on the farm that was part
of the old homestead that she has
improved into a comfortable home.
Her youngest son, David, resided
with her.
She was the mother of ten children,
U.S. Wilson and Porter Wilson of
Topeka, Kansas, W.W. Wilson and
J.B. Wilson of this area, Mrs. John
McGinnis and Mary E. are deceased
and two daughters who died in
infancy.
Funeral services were held on
Monday, January 26th with the
Reverend Warner officiating.
