Mrs. Margaret Foreman Mentzer, wife of John Mentzer, painter, of New Holland, died quite suddenly at her home on Brimmer avenue, New Holland, on Wednesday afternoon (19 Sep 1900) about 1pm, of heart troubles and dropsy, in the 60th year of her age. Deceased had been failing in health since last May, and several times recently her condition had been considered quite critical, but recently she had seemed to be improving somewhat, and she was able to be about the house. While sitting on the front porch after dinner she suddenly gasped for breath and died almost instantly.

Deceased was respected by all who knew her. She was a member of the Reformed Church.

Her husband and six children survive her: Ella, wife of George Davis, of New Holland; Horace, of Honeybrook; Wood W. of New Holland; Linnie, wife of Harry Hemphill, of Columbia; and John and Charles of New Holland. Three step-children also survive: Miss Lizzie (Elizabeth), of New Holland, Tillie (Matilda), wife of Adam Krick, of Upper Leacock; and Emma, wife of Charles Lewis, of Philadelphia.

The funeral of the deceased will be held this afternoon (22 Sep 1900) at 2pm, and interment will be made in St. Stephen Reformed Cemetery.
