COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 08/28/2002
Lawrence D. Vessels Sr., 81, of Louisville, died Tuesday [August 27, 2002] at VA Medical Center. He was a native of Vine Grove, KY, a retired enameler for American Standard and a Navy Sea-Bees veteran of World War II. He was past Post Commander of Mill Creek VFW Post #5421 and a member of the Wranglers Square Dance Club. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Russell Vessels. He is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte A. Brown; daughters, Pamela Ann Rademaker, Regina Sue Parker and Valerie Jean Key; sons, Lawrence D. Jr. & William Thomas Vessels; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Incarnation, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, with interment in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Keenan's Funeral Home, 4724 Dixie Hwy. at Rockford Ln.
