Funeral for Richard Sim Hamilton, 69, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwayne McDuff officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hamilton died Thursday, September 17, 1998, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born February 3, 1929, in Morgan County to Richard Louis Hamilton and Tressie Mae Stovall Hamilton. He was a member of Austinville United Methodist Church; past president of the Dixie Youth Central League; member of Alabama High School Athletic Assoc.; referee for the Alabama Football Assoc; past master of Rising Sun Lodge No. 29 F&AM Decatur.

He is survived by his wife, Dot Hamilton; three sons, Sim Hamilton Jr of Trinity, Steve Hamilton of Decatur and Roy Hamilton of Tuscaloosa; two daughters, Karen Hamilton and Regina Hamilton McCreery, both of Decatur; four brothers, Fred Hamilton, Raymond Hamilton and Joe Lee Hamilton, all of Decatur and Garrold Hamilton of Hartselle; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of Rising Sun Lodge No. 29 F&AM of Decatur. Honorary pallbearers will be member of Rising Sun Lodge and the Decatur York Rite Bodies.
