Benjamin worked as a farm worker. He endured the loss of his eldest brother, James Hilton Belford, who died during the Civil War from injuries received in the Battle of Chickamauga. His parents and some of his siblings relocated to Kaufman Co., Texas, in the mid 1870's. He and Mary remained in McDonough Co.

Benjamin died between 1887 and 1900 (not found on census). Most likely death occurred in McDonough Co.

The date of Benjamin's deaths and the circumstances surrounding is not known to me.

Their son William James Belford lived in Riverside Co., California, and Pinal Co., Arizona, where he died March 31, 1943. He was cremated. His wife's name was Molly.

After their parents deaths Alma Catharine became a servant, and later married Homer Mullen; Henry lived with his uncle Henry Corrigan, attending school and taking up the trade of pottery.
