Anderson G. Alvey, 510 Captain Frank Road, died at 4 p.m. Saturday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. A native of Grayson County, Ky., he had been an engineer for 50 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad before retiring in 1959. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Locomotive Engineers and Firemen. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Docia Alvey; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Truax, New Albany; and Mrs. Harry Randolph, Bombay, India (Note, per D. Bohn: Actually, he was survived by only 1 daughter, Margaret Rudisill (Moss) Truax, and 1 granddaughter, Leslie Ann (Fess) Randolph.); two sisters, Mrs. Claude Newton, Logansport, and Mrs. Margaret Mudd, Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Kraft Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral for Anderson G. Alvey, who died Saturday, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Kraft Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park. He lived at 510 Captain Frank Road. The Men's Club of Holy Family Catholic Church will recite the Rosary at 8 p.m. Monday in Kraft Funeral Home.
