Mihara Izumi
Miharu izumi, 82, of Waimea died Friday at the Honokaa Hospital. Born in Keaau, she was 82.
Mrs. Izumi was a retired Japanese language school teacher. She was a member of the Kamuela Hongwanji Kyodan, Kamuela Hongwanji Fujinkai, Kamuela Art Council, Waimea Senior Citizens, Kamuela Yukuharu Kai and the American Japanese Civic Association.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Kamuela Hongwanji Mission, with cremation to follow.
The family requests casual attire be worn and that flowers be omitted.
Mrs. Izumi is survived by a son, Sadayuki (Fannie) Izumi of Honolulu; two daughters, Sachiko (Tsukasa) Yamamoto of Waimea and Mildred (Klayton) Kuniyuki of Honolulu; a brother, Robert (Takie) Takahashi of Hilo; and by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dodo Mortuary is handling arrangements.
