John W. "Tater" Bratton II, 48, of Shoals, died at 7:57 a.m. Friday September 18, 2009, at his residence.

Born Aug. 19, 1961, in Daviess County, he was the son of John W. and Shirley (Brassine) Bratton.

He was a stonecutter for Summit & Evans, and various other fabricators in the Bedford mills. He was most recently employed by Indiana Cut Stone.

John played the guitar and was the lead singer for the bands, "Southern Satisfaction" and "Bad Influence."

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Bratton of Shoals; two daughters, Courtney Bratton Birkle and husband Robert of Newburgh, and Emily Bratton at home; one son, Derek Conklin of Indian Springs; one granddaughter, Bailye Bratton of Newburgh; and three sisters, Sherry and Larry Seals of Loogootee, Cathy and Dennis Seals of Loogootee, and Carrie and John Gabhart of Trinity Springs.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Robert Bratton, in infancy.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals with Burial in the Trinity Springs Cemetery.
