SSgt US Marine Corps ~ Korea
December 19, 1929 - May 29, 2009
Paul Wesley Carr was born on December 19, 1929, and went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2009; he was 79.
Paul was loved by his family: wife Frances; children Elizabeth Walsh, Carolyn Giorgio, Steven Carr, Susan Ferrell, and their spouses; grandchildren Amelia, Candice, John, James, Holly, Anthony, and Vanessa; brothers George and Richard Carr; and sisters Arlene Segars and Rachel Blackmon.
As a young man, he served as a U.S. Marine. He retired from Keyes Fibre Company in Sacramento after 25 years, then worked for FEMA and the SBA. Known for his leadership in Sacramento, he was Past President of the SMUD board and the Sacramento County Taxpayers League and served on the Goodwill board and wherever he thought he was needed. He attended Calvary Christian Church in Yuba City.
There was a viewing at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City, and - in recognition of his service as a US Marine - he was laid to rest with honor at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. The family suggests memorial donations to Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge.
