"Ethel J. Partin, 79, of Redmond, died Friday at Central Oregon District Hospital.
"Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Redmond Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Warren H. Sapp officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Canyon City Cemetery at Canyon City, with the Reverend Carol Rose officiating.
Mrs. Partin was born March 9, 1906 in Prairie City, one of 9 children born to Henry P. and Effie (Mack) Chambers. On April 9, 1934, in Baker, she married Carlos W. Partin. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1985.
"Mrs. Partin graduated from Oregon Normal School in 1927 and followed her mother's footsteps with a teaching career. She taught nearly 40 years in Grant County. After moving to Redmond in 1956, she taught 4th grade at Jessie Hill School.
"While living in Redmond, Mrs. Partin and her husband raised Appaloosa horses at their ranch on Negus Way.
"Mrs. Partin was a member of the Episcopal church, the Retired Teachers Association, the Central Oregon Appaloosa Horse Club and the Redmond Saddle Club.
"She is survived by three grandsons, Greg and John, both of Redmond and Marcus of Danville, Calif; and two great-granddaughters Kelly, Redmond and Carri, Lourenberg, N. C.
"Redmond Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements."
