William Patrick Knight of Beech Street in Andrews died in a Georgetown hospital Wednesday (June 16, 1965). He had been ill seven years and seriously ill for two weeks.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Andrews Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. C. B. Edwards. Burial will be in Andrews Memorial Cemetery, directed by Mayer Funeral Home.
Mr. Knight, a son of Marshall Knight and the late Mrs. Knight, was born in Scranton. He lived in Scranton until coming to Andrews with his family to make his home in 1935. He had operated a fruit stand until ill health forced his retirement seven years ago.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Willie Haselden Knight; three sons, William G. Knight and Wallace M. Knight, both of Andrews, and Marion Knight of Rock Hill; six daughters, Mrs. Ed (Irma) Johnson of Charlotte, Mrs. Marion (Iris) Newton of Andrews, Mrs. Harold (Sybil) Bernd of Chicago, Mrs. Renaldo (Patsy) Cox, Mrs. Lavern (Cynthia) Howard, and Mrs. Cecil (Janie) Howard, all of Andrews; 21 grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Knight of Springfield, Mass., and James Marshall Knight; seven sisters, Mrs. R. P. (Nettie) Cooper of Andrews, Mrs. T. E. (Nellie) Chappel of Charleston, Mrs. W. G. (Marguerite) Cooper of Andrews, Mrs. Ollie (Lilly Mae) Brown of Charleston, Mrs. Howard (Alma) Calcutt of Florence, Mrs. Carl Glassburg of Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. Ralph (Norma) Calcutt of Columbia.
