Mrs. Brooks was born the daughter of William Patrick Knight and Winnie Haselden Knight on July 7, 1933 in Williamsburg County.
She was a retired Administrative Clerk with the State Government of Indiana. She was a member of The Christian Fortress, attended Community Bible Study at the First Baptist Church of Georgetown, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed attending Friday night singings and bargain shopping at thrift stores. Her greatest enjoyment was giving to others by cooking and serving meals.
She leaves behind: four children, Margaret Lucas (Paul), Harold Bernd (Carolyn), Carolyn Hodges (Maurice) and Terry Bernd (Debbie); ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind: two sisters, Patsy Cox and Cynthia Hardee (Carl).
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Linda B. Beisinger; a son; Ronald Tisdale; three brothers, William Knight, Wallace "Buddy" Knight & Earl Knight; and three sisters, Iris Newton, Janie K. Howard, and Sylvia Knight.
A Memorial Service will be 11AM, Saturday, October 19, 2019 at The Christian Fortress directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Geraldine Bednego.
The Brooks Family will receive family and friends immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall.
