Arthur D. Hamilton, a carpenter in Milton, WI enlisted as a Private in Company H, 2nd Wisconsin Infantry on 24 April 1861. He was promoted to Corporal, date not given. He was mortally wounded in the chest in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and died of wounds at a field hospital at Keedysville, MD on 26 September 1862. He was originally buried there but was reinterred in the new National Cemetery about 1867.
