Records of Reformed Church of Frederick, Md. "John Adam, son of Peter and Susanna Coblentz, born 5.19.1762, baptized 10.17.1762." He learned the shoemakers trade in his native state, where in the latter part of 1787 or 1788 he married Elizabeth Coleman (Kahlmenin)(7.12.1769-5.5.1862), a native of Middletown. He farmed near Middletown, Md., where their first seven children were born. In 1807 they moved to what is now known as Van Buren Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, and entered a fractional section (190 acres) and purchased 90 acres besides on which was a small improvement. (Re: Beer's "The History of Montgomery County, Ohio, page 449 of part 3) Both were exemplary members of the German Reformed Church and were buried in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio, section 60, lot 470.
