Peter Coblentz , (2.28.1732-6.9-1808), was born at Fort Coblentz, Germany (Prussia). 1st married 5.6.1759 to Susanna Keller d. 1.17.1764. She evidently died at the birth of Elizabeth 1.17.1764 or soon thereafter because his first child by his second wife, Elizabeth Hesson, was born 12.1.1765. The record of this second marriage 11.5.1764 and the birth dates of the next seven children is given in a diary written in German by Peter which is in the hands of the children of Isaac Coblentz of Springfield, Ohio, and the translation was passed on in 1953 by R.W. Coblentz, whose father, Lyman Oral Coblentz, born near New Madison, Ohio, and lived most of his life in or near Dayton, had the translation made. Peter Coblentz was a staunch and active member of the German Reformed Church of Middletown, Md. He operated a farm near Middletown and was a highly respected citizen of the community. He and his second wife Elizabeth (2.14.1745-11.4.1824) are buried in Reformed Church Cemetery at Middletown, Md. His marriage to Susanna Keller is recorded in Brumbaugh's Colonial Record on page 506, v.2. He names his children in order of birth in his will (Frederick Co. Md., GMRB-1, page 405).
