Hattie changed her name to Ilene. Her half-sister said that this angered their father and he didn't speak to her for quite a while after that.

Hattie I. Parres, daughter of Isaac and Maggie Baker Francis, was born in Lutesville on August 2, 1906 and died in a hospital in St. Louis on February 22, 1986, at the age of 79.
On September 4, 1934 she married Ralph A. Parres, who died December 31, 1974.
Surviving are one brother, Robert Francis of Pleasant Hill, CA; three sisters, Louise Suarez of St. Louis; Marie Stevens of St. Louis; Jewel Small of Marissa, IL; and two half-sisters, Kathleen Hahs and Virginia Welch of St. Louis.
Funeral services were Monday, February 24 at Piedmont. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery there.
