Mrs. Bessie Stoll

Mrs. Bessie M. (Hughes) Stoll, 74 years old, of St. Louis, native of Bollinger County, died Thursday, June 14.

Mrs. Stoll, the former Miss Bessie M. Francis was born September 11, 1898, near Lutesville and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. I. D. Francis. She was first married to Riley Loyd Hughes, who preceded her in death. Later she married Edwin H. Stoll and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Berniece Jordon of Crestwood and Mrs. Francis Phillips of St. Louis; a son, Sgt. Riley L. Hughes of Shrewsbury, eight sisters: Mrs. Marie Stevens, Mrs. Virginia Welch, Mrs. Kathleen Hahs, Mrs. June Brockmier and Mary Louis Francis, all of St. Louis; Mrs. Ellen Parres of Piedmont, Mrs. Mary Laster of State of Oklahoma and Mrs. Jewel Small of Marissa, Illinois; four brothers, Robert Francis of Pleasant Hill, California, John Glen Francis of State of Oklahoma, I. D. Francis of State of Ohio and David Francis of State of Kansas; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A daugher, Mrs. Geraldine Jenneke and a brother, Everett Francis, also preceded Mrs. Stoll in death.

Chapel services were held Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at the Beiderwieden South Side Funeral Home in St. Louis with rev. Frank D. Minton, pastor of Tower Grove Baptist church, St. Louis, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in St. Louis.
