He was born June 8, 1929, in Peoria, the son of Rodney and Beatrice Bale Behrends. He married Mary E. Gossmeyer on Dec. 12, 1963, in Havana, and she survives.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and George.
For many years Mr. Behrends sold International trucks and vehicles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea and later five years in the reserves.
He was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church; the Lions Club; Scout Club of America; and the Midwest Maintenance Club. He was a former Jaycee in Havana, where he had served as its president.
