Burial record listed in the Dakota County Nebraska Herald, Sept. 28, 1916 states that John Barlow died Sept. 21, 1916, age 41, at his home near Goodwin, Nebraska from diphtheria. He was ill only a few days. Besides his widow, 5 little children survive. Interment in a cemetery near Waterbury.
