Geneva Ann Barlow-Roop, who lived in Patterson the past seven years, died Monday at the San Luis Convalescent Hospital in Newman. She was 86. The Uehling, Nebraska, native resided over 50 years in Merced. She worked for the Pacific Bell and Telegraph Company for some 30 years.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Merced District Cemetery. The Rev. Lori Sawdon of the United Methodist Church will conduct the service. Survivors include a son, Don Roop of Jamestown; a daughter, Jeanne Farinha of Patterson; grandchildren Doni Rosasco, Cort Roop, Jennifer Farinha and Dominic Farinha, as well as three great-granddaughters; and a brother, Stanley Barlow of Turlock.
Visitation will be Friday from noon to 7 p.m. at Stratford Evans Funeral Home in Merced.
