JAMES ADKINS AGED 73, DIES NEAR BRASHEAR
Funeral Held Yesterday at Grave in Brashear Cemetery.
James S. Adkins, 73 year old farmer, died at his home one mile east of Brashear, at 1:15 o'clock Friday afternoon. He had been ill for the past week with an abscessed lung.
Mr. Adkins, the son of Hiram and Eliza Logeston Adkins, was born in Macon County on June 4, 1865. He married Miss Lyda A. Osborn on December 28, 1889. Five children were born to this union, two surviving.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife, two children, Jake Adkins, of Hurdland, and Mrs. Opal Brackney, of Kirksvllle, seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one half-brother, William H. White, of Des Moines. la.
Following his marriage he lived in western Adair and eastern Putnam counties until 1930, when he moved to a farm near Brashear where he lived until his death.
Funeral services were held yesterday at the grave in the Brashear Cemetery at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was in the family lot. The Rev. J. H. Lane, of Brashear, conducted the services.
