Mr. George Harold Austin, age 64, of 130-B Epps Drive, Simpsonville, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in the Hillcrest Hospital, Simpsonville.

A son of John Preston Austin and Geneva Tucker Austin and step son of the late Lucille Sullivan Austin.

He was a 1965 graduate of Bryson High School, a former employee of General Electric Corp, a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and a retired veteran of the Armed Forces National Guard 307 Chemical Unit.

He is survived by his wife, Minister Joyce Chandler Austin of the home; two sons, Corey Lamont Austin of California, and Harold D. Austin of Mauldin, S.C.; a step-son Nathaniel (Wendy) Chandler of Mauldin; two daughters, Faye Wilson of Sandy Spring, Ga., Tonya (Robert) Scott of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Teretha (Waymond) Anderson of Simpsonville, Margaret Harper of Woodruff and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Monday, 3 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Willie Choice officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home.

Beasley Funeral Home, Fountain Inn is in charge of arrangements.
