I primarily desire proof that the Street Newman mentioned on Mary's stone marker is the same as this Street Newman. Due to the great difference in birth years, I wish to confirm or rule out the possibility that this Street Newman is one generation prior to the one mentioned on Mary's memorial.
Following is information graciously shared by findagrave member, Tom Rorrer: His name was Armistead W. "Street" Newman, son of Elam Newman b abt 1776 d aft 1860, and his mother was Nancy Shelton 1789-1879. Census records show an Armistead Newman with a wife by the name of Frances (Franky), who was born in 1816. Records show he married this Frances Sharp in 1837.
From a NC death certificate in Mt. Airy, NC of Gabe Newman there is a wife listed as Ann Haden and father Street Newman. Street also had a daughter Mary Ellen Newman. Nothing about her being married.
