Son of James William Bee (1766-1836) and Esther Pullum (1774-).

Married Jane Baker, 15 Aug 1843, St. Paul, Destford, Kent, England.

Sailed on the George Washington from Liverpool, England, on March 28, 1857. They landed at Boston on April 20, 1857 and settled in Boston until 1860 when they left for Florence, Nebraska. They left Florence on June 19, 1860, and crossed the plains in the Captain Jesse Murphy Ox Team to Utah and arrived in Salt Lake City on August 30, 1860. They stayed in Salt Lake City for a week and then left for Provo. At first they lived in a building where barrel tubs were made. It had no floors or ceilings and the walls were not plastered. They then moved to a small house of two rooms.

He was a cobbler by trade.

He and Jane had 11 children: Samuel Robert Bee, Frederick Farmer Bee, Robert Bee, Jane Baker "Jennie" Bee Jones, Emma Bee (died as an infant), Lorenzo Bee (died as an infant), Stephen Bee, Sarah Farman Bee Meek, Esther Ellen Bee Alleman, Edith Elizabeth Bee Whitney and Grace Alice Bee Wallick.
